CCF’s Response to COVID-19

Press Release | March 13, 2020

The well-being and safety of our extended family of donors, advisors, staff, board members, nonprofit partners and community members is our top priority. As our nation, state and county begin to emerge from the stay-at-home orders due to the coronavirus, we want to provide you with an update on the California Community Foundation’s response to this global pandemic impacting our communities.

CCF is a community foundation and our community is Los Angeles County. During times of uncertainty, we embrace our leadership role to respond to the evolving needs of our diverse residents. We will continue to monitor updates from public health officials to determine the best course of action to support the most vulnerable populations across the County.

We are all members of the greater Los Angeles family, and our concern and compassion for each other will help us weather this crisis, together. For more information and ongoing updates about CCF’s work across the region, please contact your relationship manager or program officer/manager and visit this page for updates.

Thank you for being a valued partner of CCF.

CCF Business Continuity:

  • Business Hours: CCF has maintained operations during normal business hours by working remotely throughout the stay-at-home orders.  We continue to follow recommendations from public health officials to protect our staff, including staggered and remote work arrangements, that may impact modes of communication and response times.
  • Event Postponement: CCF continues to postpone all upcoming events and convenings. When recommendations by health officials around gatherings are revised, we will provide updates on rescheduled activities.
  • CCF Meetings & Convening Center Activities: Until further notice, our JPC Convening Center will continue to be closed. Please visit this page for the latest updates.
  • Grantmaking Timing: Our current timing for grants is approximately 7-10 business days from receipt of recommendation. On occasion, grants may experience delays when we are processing an extraordinarily high volume of grant recommendations (COVID relief and recovery grants) or if a grant recommendation requires a special procedure (international grant or customized grant agreement). You may view your “Grants Paid” listing on DonorConnect to see when a check has been cut and may expect that checks will be mailed within 1 business day of the date paid.
