Scoli Acosta

Scoli AcostaArtist’s Statement

Informed by literature, dreams, and my experience living in other countries, my work operates as a visual vocabulary that I continually pull from, combining and recombining.

Traveling comes naturally to me and my work reflects my environment.

I embrace the absurdity and magic of the quotidian, emphasizing process and serendipity.

I accentuate the handmade, and believe in what I call the “Aesthetics of Resourcefulness.”

These factors as well as my organic studio process, lend my work the quality of a disjointed narrative or dream structure, which I sometimes explore further in performance.
