We’re obsessed with helping women.

It’s in our DNA.

Yes, we sell clothes to women for a living. But for us, it’s so much more. It’s a commitment to making curvy women look young, sexy, and stylish on the outside, while also helping them feel beautiful and confident on the inside.

Now we’re doing more. We’re giving back. The Torrid Foundation was established to raise funds through donations and with these funds, partner with nonprofit organizations dedicated to helping women and changing lives, just like us.

There’s no such thing as a small donation, your change can change lives. Please donate today to help educate and empower women.

ASRAT logo

The Asrat Foundation is a non-profit whose mission is to empower women and survivors of sexual trauma & domestic violence through education, microenterprise programs and the arts.

Its initial project was a girls education program in Ethiopia, which is currently in its second year of subsidizing the school fees, room and board, books, uniforms, tutors and school supplies for 20 high school students and 1 college student in Debre Birhan, Ethiopia. Without this program, these girls would not have been able to complete high school and/or college simply due to a lack of access and resources.

In November 2020, a war was induced in Ethiopia by outside forces and hundreds of women were sexually assaulted by mercenaries. In collaboration with a local grassroots organization, the Asrat Foundation subsidized a microenterprise program for 25 survivors of weaponized rape in Shewa Robit, Ethiopia.  The one year program provides start-up capital, training and support for the women to set up a small business in Shewa Robit, Ethiopia.

The Asrat DAF at CCF provides grants to various organizations including non-profits focused on historical preservation in California, poverty alleviation in Ethiopia, reparations for African Americans, and scholarships for disadvantaged students globally.

The foundation plans to get involved in the areas of mental health and the arts.

Angel City Fund

Angel City is founded on the idea that purpose and profit don’t just play nicely – they propel each other.

Our Club joined the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) in 2022 as its 12th women’s professional soccer team with a clear purpose: use entertainment to drive fandom and inspire impact.

We have broken records and raised standards on and off the pitch while generating a groundswell of support from some of the best players in the world and a passionate community of fans and partners. Our social impact program has been a core part of our DNA since inception, exhibited by giving away over $1 million through our 10% sponsorship model to help serve youth, women and families across Los Angeles.

Now, we hope to do more by launching the Angel City Foundation to accelerate inclusion and equity in sport and beyond by leveraging our unique combination of Football Club, Player Practice Facility, Community efforts, and new foundation initiatives. We are impatient for progress and optimistic about what Angel City can unlock. Join us in bending the curve for a future generation.

Providing Professional Development Opportunities For Female Soccer Players

In Partnership with the California Community Foundation,
ACFC Will Foster Sports-Specific Career Advancement Opportunities for Retired Players

Angel City FC Player 22 Program is named for the team’s spring 2022 kickoff, and in celebration of the 22 players on the pitch in every match. The fund will provide grants for off-field professional development opportunities and education.

The program creates professional pathways for former NWSL players interested in pursuing a career in the sports industry. Whether it be coaching, refereeing, media, or front office roles, the ultimate goal is to help prepare players to enter the workforce after their professional soccer careers.

When players’ soccer careers are over, they are often left without a solid career plan, as well as feeling that they are “behind” professionals their own age because they didn’t enter the workforce after college. P22 will equip players with professional development skills to help close that gap.

Why is this important?
Investing in players’ retirement and providing them with sport-specific career opportunities not only helps individual players but furthers progress towards gender equity in the industry. Angel City’s mission and values as a women-led and -driven organization align closely with this program in driving the momentum of more women and gender-expansive individuals entering the sports business.

For more information about the Player 22 Program, visit angelcity.com/player22.

The California Black Women and Girls Social and Economic Impact Fund addresses the need to improve Black Women’s and girls’ lives by supporting organizations, communities, efforts, and initiatives that work to close equity and disparity gaps specifically for Black Women and girls.

According to the 2018 State of Black Women In California report, Black Women are more likely than any other race to:

  • Be single breadwinners
  • Live in poverty
  • Face significant barriers regarding pathways to success economically, socially, and professionally
  • Have the highest death rates from preventable diseases

Historically, Black Women have been at the forefront of change with an unwavering commitment to address and breakdown systemic barriers for all marginalized communities. Together we can help the women who have been the unsung heroes of change achieve more equitable and just outcomes.

Gibson InternationalAbout Gibson International Charitable Foundation

“The Gibson International Charitable Foundation strives to make the communities we serve into better places to live through active involvement and financial support for local organizations in need.” This is our mission statement and all of the agents at Gibson International have opened their hearts and embraced its message.

Throughout the year agents generously donate a portion of their commissions so that the Charitable Foundation can contribute to local organizations such as Heal the Bay, Dream Street Foundation, Venice Family Clinic, Guide Dogs of America, YWCA, Disabled American Veterans… and the list goes on and on.

In addition to the monetary donations, the agents at Gibson International also rally their efforts to donate household supplies to shelters, gather coats and blankets for the Mission Project downtown, make sandwiches for PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) and adopt Veteran Families during the Holidays. Giving back is part of who we are at Gibson International!!

Update for the Gibson International Charitable Foundation

Thanks to the generosity of the Gibson International agents, clients, family and friends, the Foundation was able to make grants to over 26 different local organizations to help people and animals in need.

During the Holiday Season the Gibson International Foundation continues to reach out to the community by adopting several veterans and their families and providing food and gifts to brighten their holidays, as well as donating coats and blankets to The Mission Project in downtown LA and collecting toys for children who might not otherwise receive a gift at the holidays.

Brenda Berman Family Foundation PhotoBrenda Berman was a mother, philanthropist and selfless friend to many around the world. Whether living in New Zealand, Australia, Silicon Valley or Southern California, her life was dedicated to helping others – no matter their age, creed or culture.

Mission

Brenda had several interests throughout her dynamic life:

  1. Her concern for the environmental protection of the land, water and air.
  2. As her two beautiful sons grew and eventually ventured out on their own, Brenda had a desire to support women seeking an education in an effort to re-start their lives.
  3. Finally, Brenda’s life ended prematurely as she waged a proactive and courageous battle against triple negative breast cancer. One of her final hopes was that a cure be found to eradicate this dastardly disease from the face of the planet.

The Brenda Berman Family Foundation fund has been established to honor Brenda’s memory and her commitment in support of these three specific causes.
